About 45 people rallied across from City Hall, June 2, to protest against the proposed city budget, answering a state-wide call from Bristol Republicans.

Among the speakers were Republican Town Committee Chairman Jeff Caggiano, House of Representatives candidate from West Hartford Mary Faye, State Senator Henri Martin, and state representative candidate David Radcliffe.

The finance board and city council, meeting jointly, approved the budget with a .79 percent increase, equaling about a $4.35 per month for a property assessed at $150,000.
