Bristol Eastern Boys Track & Field

PLATT 81, BRISTOL EASTERN 68

MERIDEN – The Eastern boys track and field team just missed out on winning against Platt of Meriden on Tuesday, falling 81-68 in a CCC South bout on the road.

The Lancers scooped up several first place finishes as Logan Crowley was tremendous that afternoon.

Crowley took first place in the 1600 and 3200 meter events and was part of the winning 4×800 team along with teammates Aidan Tartarelli, Dominic Tartarelli, and Carter Harris.

Speaking of Harris, the athlete nabbed first place in both the pole vault and 800 meters.

Then basketball favorite, sophomore Isaiah Lawrence-Bynum, won the long jump.

And in the 4×400 relay, the combination of Axel Agustin Santiago, Harris, Gabriel Nugra, and Preston Poirier took first place as the Lancers had a strong 2022 debut.

Bristol Central Girls Track & Field

BERLIN 90, BRISTOL CENTRAL 54 

The Bristol Central girls track & field squad had some very good finishes in its season opener against Berlin on Tuesday.

But the Redcoats were just a bit better than the girls from Central as Berlin defeated the Rams by a 90-54 final in Bristol.

Winners for Central included Emily Blanchette (100 hurdles, 19.9 seconds), Sophia Stark (800 meters, 2:38.40), and the 4×400 meter relay team of Stark, Rebecca Litwinczyk, Katie Tran, and Lynae Lewis (4:32.2).

Winners in the field for Central included Kaleah Richards in the discus (71 feet, 3 inches) and Kaleah Richards in the shot put (24 feet, eight inches).

In the jumping challenges, Destinee Craft (long jump, 15-10.5) took first place as did Kylee Barnes (high jump, five feet).
