25th Annual Turkey Shoot Basketball Contest Returns this Saturday

The Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services Department has issued the following announcement.

Win a Thanksgiving turkey! The City of Bristol’s Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services Department’s 25th Annual Turkey Shoot Basketball Contest will be held this coming Saturday, November 19th, at the Chippens Hill Middle School Gymnasium. 

Teams consist of a child ages 4 to 13 and a parent/guardian. The Turkey Shoot will test the teams’ skill and accuracy in a basketball foul shooting (free throw) contest for a chance to a $25 gift certificate to purchase a turkey for Thanksgiving! Winners will be awarded in each age group with gift cards and raffle/door prizes for their efforts.

Recreation Supervisor, Amry Shelby, expressed his anticipation for this year’s event, “The Turkey Shoot is a great family event that kicks off a special time of the year. We’re looking forward to having more families come out to participate.”

Teams will start at different times based on the participating child’s age: 

9:30 AM- Ages 4 & 5
10:00 AM- Ages 6 & 7
10:30 AM- Ages 8 & 9
11:00 AM- Ages 10 & 11
11:30 AM- Ages 12 & 13

Shelby went on to explain “This is a great opportunity for families to connect. Regardless of your basketball skill level, it’s truly a good time for everyone that attends.”
