Scholastic sports in the Mum City to begin this Thursday

The scholastic slate in Bristol starts to heat up on Thursday as the 2022 fall campaign is about to commence.  

There’s plenty of excitement to go around as both Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern will see a little early season action.  

Here is the varsity schedule for this coming week as the Bristol teams will be home for several games and matches, commencing on Thursday with several teams hitting the fields:  

Football – Friday, September 9  

*Manchester at Bristol Central (6 p.m., turf field at BCHS)  

*RHAM at Bristol Eastern (6:30 p.m., Alumni Field, BEHS)  

Boys Soccer – Thursday, September 8  

*Middletown at Bristol Central (6:30 p.m., BCHS turf field)  

*Lewis Mills at Bristol Eastern (6 p.m., Alumni Field)  

Girls Soccer – Thursday, September 8  

*Bristol Central at Middletown (6 p.m., at Middletown High School  

*Bristol Eastern at Lewis Mills (3:45 p.m., Nassahegan Field, Burlington)  

Volleyball – Thursday, September 8  

*RHAM at Bristol Central (6:30 p.m., Charles C. Marsh Gymnasium)  

Volleyball – Friday, September 9  

*South Windsor at Bristol Eastern (6 p.m., Thomas M. Monahan Gymnasium)  

Cross Country – Saturday, September 10  

*Bristol Central at the 41st Stratton Brook Invitational (10 a.m., Stratton Brook State Park, Simsbury).
