Final Rockwell concert this evening features Letanya Ferrell; concurrently, the city is offering free vaccine clinic

The final concert in the city summer concert series at Rockwell Park amphitheater begins at 6 p.m. with opening act by Marty Q on guitar and saxophone and at 6:30 p.m. featured artist Latanya Ferrell, with favorites from Natalie Cole to Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.

At the same time of the concert, the City of Bristol and the Bristol Health District will be holding a free COVID vaccine clinic in Mrs. Rockwell’s Pavilion at the entrance to the park. There will be all three vaccines available.

Tonight’s food truck is Lobster’s Tails, arranged by the West End Association.

Series is sponsored by Bristol Dept. of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services.

People are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets.

Joint meeting and city council meeting this evening

Tonight’s Joint Board meeting of the Finance Board and City Council will feature a presentation by the City Hall renovation project team regarding an update of the City Hall Renovation Project. The council meeting will have for its featured non-profit showcase, “The Walk to End Alzheimers” to be held Sept. 12 at Lake Compounce.

The Joint Board meets at 6:45 p.m. The council meeting follows at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the council chambers at City Hall.
