BE girls dominate from start to finish, win easily 53-24 over Plainville

Basketball

Autumn Udoh and Leah Roy combined for 28 points, outscoring the Plainville girls all by themselves, as Bristol Eastern cruised to a 53-24 victory Monday night at Plainville’s gym.

The Lancers played solid defense all evening, holding the Blue Devils to 4 points in the first quarter and 10 at the half. Eastern did not allow their opponent to ever reach double digits in any quarter.

The Lancers played without standout point guard Vanessa Drury, and struggled a bit to get a good flow on offense. But they improved as the game went on and scored thirty points in the second half.

Udoh led Eastern in scoring with 15 points, closely followed by Roy with 13 and Savannah Drury with 12.

The Lancers also were dominant on the boards as Roy, Udoh and Amanda Noël pulled down eight rebounds apiece.

Eastern improves to 12-4 on the year, and will travel to Meriden on Friday to face Platt.
