MANCHESTER – Both the Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern cross county teams took part of the 37th Annual Wickham Park Invite on Saturday.

And the Rams and Lancers had some good finishes up and down the line-up.

At the statewide event, Central’s Frankie Porrini did extremely well – finishing in 14th place in the Boys Large School division with a time of 17:04 from the course in Manchester.

Also for Central, Chris Roy (42nd, 17:51) had a solid day of action along with teammates Lance Archibald (96th, 19:09) and Ryan Sarmiento (102nd, 19:22).

The Eastern boys finished 20th in the Medium School race with three athletes placing in and around the top eighty of the meet.

Logan Crowley (32nd, 17:50) led the Lancers’ charge, Dominic Tartarelli (50th, 18:29) did a tremendous job while Dante Marciano (81st, 19:02) performed well.

In the Middle Girls Varsity challenge, Eastern placed 22nd overall as

Fiona Gallagher (49th, 23:03), Lauren Ayotte (89th, 24:53) and

Shillelagh Gallagher (106th, 25:50) took the top three slots for the Lancers’ contingent.

For the Rams, in the Large School race, Maura Waters (98th, 23:11) and

Katie Tran (150th, 25:21) made good showings.

Both programs had other runners in JV events as well over a busy fall Saturday.

“Freshmen Braydan Dwyer placed 15th in the JV Boys 3 race with a time of 19:44 and sophomores Patrick Wininger and Josh Poulin ran well with times of 20:20 and 20:21 respectively,” said Central coach Tamara Stafford-Kirk.

Stafford-Kirk also mentioned that she’s running most of her girls crew in JV races as the squad is a bit on the youthful side.
