It took 10 innings, but the BriSox dropped a tough 6-3 decision to the Redding Phillies. Rick Bosetti (later played for the Blue Jays, Cardinals, A’s, and Phillies) and Al Lever broke the 3-3 tie.

Bristol’s Frank Mannerino’s double in the first inning accounted for two of Bristol’s three runs.

Speaking of July 14, 1973

Vandals damaged two large windows at Bristol Eastern Highs School. Windows at O’Connell Elementary School on Park Street were also smashed.

It was announced on July 14, 1973, that State Rep. Gardner Wright was selected by the Democratic State Central Committee to represent Democratic legislators at a summer symposium. The topic for the lecture series was “Connecticut Politics 74.”
