Noreen (Norkie) Forrest-Murphy, 75

On Friday, Dec. 1, Noreen (Norkie) Forrest-Murphy received her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was born on March 12, 1948, in Bristol, daughter of the late Richard N. Forrest and Dorothy (Hubbard) Papile.

Noreen was a beloved mother, meme, sister and friend whose most joyful moments in life were in the presence of her loving friends and family. She always looked forward to the yearly Rhode Island vacations, singing Christmas carols on Thanksgiving and creating endless memories with the people that meant the most to her. From her angelic smile to her witty sense of humor, she always knew how to make everyone around her laugh. We will forever carry your memory in our hearts. We love you, Norkie.

Noreen is survived by her sons Michael Murphy and his wife Amalia Dapkiewicc of Mass., Kevin Murphy and his wife Melissa of Southington; daughter Sarah Lagasse and her wife Sarah Jones of Australia; grandchildren Carter Murphy and Emma Bolduc-Patterson; granddogs Rory and Chase; sisters Gail Forrest of Bristol, Linda Mulcunry and her husband James of Massachusetts, Donna Barbieri and her husband Joe of New Britain; brother Richard Forrest of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by Rinaldo Papile, Richard and Claire Murphy.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. Bristol, from 10 am. until a service that will begin at 12 noon. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, https://www.alz.org. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit Noreen’s memorial webpage at www.OBrien-FuneralHome.com.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
