Bristol Eastern boys track and field is a winner at Maloney on Wednesday afternoon

MERIDEN – Wednesday afternoon was pay day for the boys track and field team over at Bristol Eastern.

And the Lancers hit the pay window for the first time this year against Maloney, picking up a huge 74-72 CCC South victory on Wednesday in Meriden. 

The win for Eastern saw the Kingstreeters wrap up several first-place tallies.

Logan Crowley earned first place as a member of the 4×800 relay team, took the 1600 meters in under five minutes (4:58) and nabbed a great time in the 3200 (10:44).

And then Carter Harris was also part of that winning 4×800 team.

In the pole vault challenge, Harris had a successful jump of 10 feet, six inches and won the 800 meters in 2:09.

Jack Mulcunry took the 400 in 52.75 seconds, Joshua Moore won the high jump with a leap of five feet, two inches, and the athletic Isaiah Lawrence-Bynum earned first place in the triple jump with a make of 38 feet, four inches.

Joining Crowley and Harris on the winning 4×800 relay team was Jack Mulcunry, and Dominic Tartarelli – finishing the race in 8:59.

And then in the 4×400 relay, the combination of Mulcunry, Edward Ansah, Preston Poirier, and Carter Harris won it in 3:46.11.

To end the month of April, the Lancers travel to Lewis Mills High School in Burlington on Tuesday.
