Bristol Trail Study results to be discussed at public library mid-week

A public meeting to discuss the results of the Bristol Trail Study will be held on Wednesday, May 24, at the Bristol Public Library in Meeting Room 2 from 6 to 7 p.m. This meeting is intended to inform the public about the findings and to respond to final community comments before submitting the final report to the city.

The public has been actively involved in the process, beginning with an initial public input meeting on March 8, followed by a community walk audit on April 20. At Wednesday’s meeting, NVCOG will present the results of a community survey that was conducted to solicit feedback from residents.

The Bristol Trail Study began in January of this year, with the goal of determining the best routing options to provide a safe, continuous connection between Rockwell Park in the west to Downtown, continuing east to Route 229.

On Monday, The City of Bristol was received $320,000 from the state to advance the NVCOG concept into design. The award is part of a statewide initiative by Gov. Ned Lamont and Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Katie Dykes.

On Monday, they announced that approximately $9 million in state grants are being released through the Connecticut Recreational Trails Program to plan, build, expand, and improve a total of 50 multi-use trails across Connecticut.

All are welcome to attend the public meeting. Language assistance may be requested by emailing contactus@nvcogct.gov or calling Desira Blanchard at 203-489-0353 at least 2 business days prior to the meeting.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
