Good morning, Bristol!

Good morning, Bristol. With a heavy heart, let us begin.

“Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends
We’re so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside.”

Thanks Greg.

And we are off, people!

Weather

Saddle up, 60s and showers today.

Al Capone is convicted of tax evasion.

From the Desk of Bristol Resident Don ‘The Hawk’ Hawkins

Why did the tomato blush?

Because it saw the salad dressing.

Ka-Pow!

The Hawk, ladies and gentlemen. Moving on.

Speaking of office humor

When your manager asks you to start your presentation with a joke:

“So, the manager asked me to start my presentation with a joke. You can see here on my first slide my paycheck from last month.”

Did you see that?

Did anyone notice the National Hockey League started the 2022/2023 season? We did not think so. We missed it too.

Speaking of college football

Saturday night, Tennessee defeated Alabama. Tough times in Tuscaloosa because they aren’t going to Disney World. Apparently, Alabama has crashed and there is no black box.

They said it

“This is a sad time for all people. We have suffered a loss that cannot be weighed. For me it is a deep personal tragedy. I know that the world shares the sorrow that Mrs. Kennedy and her family bear. I will do my best. That is all I can do. I ask for your help and God’s.

President Lydon B. Johnson, Nov. 22, 1963

“Today, our nation saw evil — the very worst of human nature — and we responded with the best of America. With the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.”

President George W. Bush, Sept. 11, 2001

“The Bristol community has always stood in solidarity to support our Bristol Police Department and during this time of indescribable, overwhelming pain and loss, in this all-heart city we will continue to be there for each other in the morning today, and in the difficult days ahead.”

Mayor Jeff Caggiano, Oct. 13, 2022

The roundoff

“East bound and down, loaded up and truckin’
Oh, we gonna do what they say can’t be done
We’ve got a long way to go and a short time to get there
I’m east bound, just watch ol’ bandit run.”

Indeed. Thanks, Jerry.

See ya tomorrow, Bristol. Stay hydrated.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
