Nancy M. (Pouliot) Proulx, 91

Nancy M. (Pouliot) Proulx, 91, of Bristol, widow of Eugene L. Proulx, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, at Ingraham Manor. Nancy was born on May 19, 1932, in Bristol and was a daughter of the late Leo and Blanche Pouliot.

She was a lifelong Bristol resident where she raised her family. She retired from Bradlees Department Store at the age of 60, spending her retirement years caring for her grandchildren. Nancy was an avid cook and baker and enjoyed going to the movies, playing cards and bingo, visiting wineries, and going to Ogunquit, Maine, her favorite place by the sea. Her most treasured memories were yearly family vacations at the beach. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved her family beyond measure. Spending time with her family was most important to her and is what truly made her heart happy.

Nancy is survived by four children: Jeffrey Proulx and wife, Patti of Timnath, Colo., Michele Albert and husband, Paul of Bristol, Lori Albert and husband, John of Bay Village, Ohio, and Carrie Aldieri and husband, Michael of Bristol; five grandchildren: Alyssa Proulx-Bostrom, Caden Proulx, Eric, Zachary, and Hannah Aldieri;  and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters and an infant brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.

The family extends a sincere thank you to the nurse’s aides, nurses, and staff at Ingraham Manor for their compassionate care and support to the family over the last several months.

Funk Funeral Home, Bristol is honored to serve the family.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
