Good morning, Bristol!

Welcome to Tuesday, Bristol.

Weather

Sunny and warm. The high could reach 80 today. Windy with gusts up to 25 m.p.h.

Things to do today

There is the joint meeting of the City Council and the Board of Finance to approve this year‘s budget. It is BYOC (bring your own calculator).

Bristol Central and Eastern meet in Track and Field this afternoon. Both teams are undefeated in their division, so the winner will not only be city champs, but conference champs also.

You can take a hike on a beautiful trail; maybe try the new Pigeon Hill trails. (See last week’s TBE article by Rit Carter)

You can take a nap, which almost everyone agrees is good for your body and mind.

This day in history

The very first Academy Awards ceremony was held in 1929. Today’s trivia question- What film won the Oscar for best picture that year?

In I990, the great Jim Henson died. Kermit the Frog has never been the same.

Trivia reveal

The answer to yesterday’s trivia question: We have no idea. You will have to ask the mayor.

That’s all for today. See you on Thursday. Be there or be square.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
