Good morning, Bristol!

The greatest threat to Tuesday is Wednesday. Uh, oh.

Weather

Sun with temps in the high 80s. Less humid, though, so we have that going for us.

Speaking of wasting money

The chances of winning the Mega Millions is 1 in 176 million. The CDC says you are 30,000 times more likely to experience a bathroom injury than you are to win the Mega Millions jackpot.

According to LendEDU, the average American spends $219.54 on lottery tickets a year. In Connecticut, that amount is $321.41.

In 2017, Americans spent a total of $71.8 billion on the lottery.

Yowza, people!

A reader (who wishes to be unknown) sent the following image of his recent flight over the Hudson River with a single-engine Cessna.

Words to live by

“If you scrub with ‘Sudsy-Wudsy,’ you’ll wash away the Mudsy-Mudsies.”

Barney Rubble, Season 2 of the Flintstones

That sums it all up.

See ya Thursday (maybe) an pitch inside, Bristol.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
