Bristol Water & Sewer Department to perform emergency construction on 2nd Street 

The Bristol Water and Sewer Department announced that they will be performing water main maintenance on Tuesday, March 28. 

Weather Permitting, construction to replace the fire hydrant at the end of 2nd Street will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through 3 p.m. 

Residents may experience discolored water when the water is turned back on. Citizens who encounter discolored water, are advised to run an outside faucet or bathtub with cold water until the water runs clear. Surrounding areas may also experience a period of low water pressure.

Customers who are affected by an extended service interruption may bring their own containers to the water filling station located at the Water Filtration Plant. Filtration Plant Operators will assist in filling the water containers, and there is no charge to customers affected by the water service interruption. 

The Water Filtration Plant is located at 1080 Terryville Ave. and can be reached at (860) 583-6504.The Bristol Water and Sewer Department recommends that customers call the plant in advance of arrival.
