Battle for the Bell: Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game and scores from every BC/BE showdown

Since 1996, the annual Thanksgiving Day football battles between Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern have seen the best offense and defense players recognized for their outstanding efforts.

The Thomas R. Monahan Player of the Game Awards are given to four players, two apiece from each school on both offense and defense.

Some of the players have earned multiple awards over the years and the list of recipients is a who’s who of Bristol players from years gone by.

Here’s a look at every Battle for the Bell Offensive and Defensive Player of The Game award winners, starting with the first awards in 1996:
