Wendy Small

Wendy M. Small, 59, of Bristol, died on Thursday, Sept. 23, at home.

Wendy was born in Waterville, Maine, on Jan. 23, 1962, and was the only daughter of Richard E. and Myrna (Chase) Small of Bristol.

A lifelong Bristol resident, she attended Bristol Central High School before going to work jobs at Sears Surplus in the former Centre Mall, Connecticut Clean Room, roofing industry, and doing house cleaning. She loved gardening, working outdoors, and animals including feeding the birds and squirrels. She was a fan of Tigger– having many collectibles–the San Francisco 49ers and watching NASCAR.

In addition to her parents, Wendy is survived by her loving daughter, Heather Small, and son-in-law, Joaquin Acevedo of Bristol; life partner, David Fitzsimons; a brother, Scott Small, of Weatogue; her beloved granddaughter, Reyna Acevedo; her nephew, Kyle Small; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her grand-dogs, Biggie and Slim.  She was predeceased by a brother, Richard R. Small.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Funk Funeral Home 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Wednesday, Sept. 29, between 5 and 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
