PLAINVILLE – Squaring off against a very good Plainville squad, the Bristol Eastern wrestling program turned away the Blue Devils by a 45-27 final this past Wednesday.

The bout, held from Kegel Gymnasium in Plainville, saw the Lancers dominate as the program moved to 9-1 overall.

Eastern is 4-1 in the CCC South while Plainville fell to 5-7 overall (3-3 CCC South).

The Lancers got big efforts up and down the line-up with Eastern freshman Luke Viens (I almost wrote Keith. Wrong sport…) as he picked up a big 7-4 decision over Greyson Borra at 113 pounds.

And then at 120, the Lancers Michael Roalf pinned Plainville’s Kali Fangiullo in 1:25.

Eastern’s Anthony Silva (126) pinned Charlie Hall in 2:31 while at 145, Joshua Aubin won his match via forfeit.

Ella Nichols (152) wasted precious little time in pinning Hunter Krystock – twenty-seven seconds to be precise – while Alex Marshall (160) earned a forfeit victory.

The Lancers’ Kaiden Dionne (170) drew a pinfall win over Aidan White in thirty-six seconds and finally, Owen Broyles (195) took the pin over Jacob Boucher in 1:38 – all leading to the program’s current 9-1 ledger.

In Eastern’s final CCC South bout of the campaign, the Lancers battle crosstown rival Bristol Central on Wednesday, February 9 at 6 p.m. from the Thomas M. Monahan Gymnasium in Bristol.

This year’s Class L championships are slated for February 18-19 from Wilton high school.
