Jeanne G. (Velms) Steiner, 91, died on Thursday, July 7, at Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center in Moodus.

Jeanne was born in Ansonia on Nov. 9, 1930, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Hamulack) Velms. She was raised in Ansonia where she graduated high school. She worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health before retiring. 

She resided in Bristol for 28 years where she was a former member of the Bristol Lions Club and was an active parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church. She played piano, loved to follow Hollywood, and enjoyed art and word games. 

She was predeceased by her son: Eric Steiner and her sister: Harriett Lattanzi, and leaves nieces and nephew: Laura Lattanzi Sterling, William Lattanzi, and Susan Lattanzi Roser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.
