Senior pitcher Kyle Wilson picked up his second win of the season and led St. Paul to a 10-0 win over Wilby in Bristol yesterday afternoon. Wilson was dominant on the mound allowing only two hits while striking out 12 and allowing no walks.

Third baseman Noah Marrero had both of Wilby’s hits and was the only baserunner for Wilby this game. Starting pitcher Keven Ortiz-Neftali pitched the entire game and took the loss for Wilby.

In the bottom of the first, Logan Rembish and Cal Chance walked and both advanced one base on a balk. AJ Corrado singled home the pair, and St. Paul had an early 2-0 lead.

In the second, Mike DeRosa led off and reached second safely on an infield error. Two batters later, his brother Jay drove him in with a single, and St. Paul led 3-0.

Chance led off the bottom of the third with a walk. He stole second base to move into scoring position, and then scored on Coby Dagata’s RBI single. St. Paul led 4-0.

With one out in the fourth, Keaton Kroll doubled. Jay DeRosa drove him in with an RBI single. DeRosa then stole second. On DeRosa’s attempted steal of third, the catcher’s throw went into left field allowing DeRosa to score and make it 6-0. Chance singled and advanced to second on a balk. Corrado followed with an RBI single to make it 7-0.

In the bottom of the fifth, Cooper Sima doubled. Jay DeRosa hit a Texas Leaguer double to drive in Sima with the eighth run. Rembish drove in DeRosa with the ninth run with an RBI single. Rembish then stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and came in to score the game ending 10th run on Corrado’s third hit of the afternoon.
