St. Paul girls run record to 9-4 with victory over Woodland Regional

Basketball

The Woodland Regional girls basketball team took a drive up Route 8 Friday night to visit St. Paul, and the Falcons proved to be less than cordial hosts, leading from start to finish in defeating Woodland 55-38 in NVL action.

The lead for St. Paul stood at nine after three quarters, but they pulled away in the fourth with a 19-11 edge and won by 17 without too much difficulty.

The Falcons were led by Audrey Tice with 19 points, followed closely by Rebecca Kelly with 16.

Kelly added 8 rebounds to her efforts, and Kelsea Tefoe also grabbed 8 boards for St. Paul.

Casey Mulligan tried to keep Woodland in the game with a 21 point performance, but no one else could total anything above 6 points on the night for the visitors.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 9-4, and are home again on Tuesday to host perennial NVL powerhouse Holy Cross for a 7:00 showdown.
