Joan Osak

Joan (Mikulak) Osak, 94, of Plainville, widow of Theodore Osak, died on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at The Pines at Bristol.

Joan was born in New Britain on May 25, 1927, and was one of 12 children of the late Stanley and Alexandra (Gondek) Mikulak.

A longtime Plainville resident, she worked for General Electric until retiring. She and her husband loved to travel, she enjoyed doing word puzzles and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joan is survived by four children: Catherine Mastroianni of Bristol, Theodore Osak, Jr. of Plainville, Therese Drouin and husband, Ronald of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Rick Osak and wife, Carrie of Portland; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eight brothers and three sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington.

Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Wednesday between 9:30 and 11 a.m.
