Weekday Wrestling Round-up: Bristol Eastern losses to Berlin on Thursday via 72-12 setback

BERLIN – The Bristol Eastern wrestling program had its hands full against CCC South leader Berlin on Thursday night, dropping a tough 72-12 decision on the road to the Redcoats.

Berlin improved to 4-0 overall in CCC South encounters while moving to 16-4 overall.

The Lancers dropped to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in CCC South competition.

Eastern managed to snare victories over both light and heavyweight bouts.

At 113 pounds, Eastern’s Yussuf Bah won via pin-fall over Sybella Landrie while Evan Gleifert (285) went to war against Aidan Arcila.

The duo battled into the third period with Gleifert eventually pulling out a pin in 4:34.

Those two pin-fall win led to all of the Lancers’ 12 points scored during the bout.

Bristol participated at the Highlander Invite in Portland on Saturday and have a huge CCC South confrontation next Wednesday.

Eastern head coach Todd Krolikowski takes his shot against Plainville from the Thomas M. Monahan Gymnasium in Bristol starting at 6 p.m.
