St. Paul girls get huge win over Holy Cross of Waterbury, pulling away in final quarter for a 76-71 verdict Tuesday night

Perennial state power Holy Cross entered the Rev. Brian Monnerat Gymnasium at St. Paul Tuesday night riding a 14-1 record, but a few hours later they left with their second loss of the season, as the Falcons exploded with a 24 point fourth quarter for a 76-71 upset.

Audrey Tice led St. Paul with 24 points, and Rebecca Kelly had a big night with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Kelsea Tefoe added 16 points and 7 rebounds, as the Falcons big three answered the challenge against the defending state champions.

Mya Zaccagnini had a huge game for Holy Cross, scoring from everywhere in a 34 point performance.

St. Paul is now 10-4 on the season, and the Falcons return to action on Thursday, hosting Torrington in a 7:00 tip-off.
