Eastern volleyball continues winning streak with 3-1 victory at Berlin

Bristol Eastern’s volleyball team defeated Berlin 3-1 Monday night, running their early season winning streak to five straight matches. The Lancers won the first two sets with ease by identical 26-16 scores.

The Redcoats showed some life in the third, winning a close 25-23 decision.

But Eastern immediately regrouped and closed out the match by a 25-14 final.

Lauren Bender had an awesome day at the net, putting away 19 kills for BE. She also served up 4 aces. Gabriela Caucci was on a roll herself, adding 7 kills and 8 aces to the Lancer attack.


Berlin was led by Ella Pappa with 9 kills, while Julia Matan had 4 kills, 2 blocks and an ace.

Eastern travels to Simsbury Wednesday for a 5:00 match.
