Primaries for local House, state offices and U.S. Senate set this Tuesday

Primaries where Bristol voters with have an opportunity cast a ballot this Tuesday involve the local seat for representative in State House District 78, where the incumbent is retiring, several elections for state treasurer and secretary of state, and U.S. Senate.

Republicans in State House District 78 (Bristol/Plymouth) will choose between Aileen Abrams and the endorsed candidate Joe Hoxha. They are vying for the seat left open with the retirement of incumbent Whit Betts (R). Abrams ran against Betts in 2020. For information about Abrams, click here for her website. Betts was elected to the State House of Representatives in 2010. During 2021-2022 he was a member of the following committees: Appropriations, Public Health and Environment.
