Veterans Day ceremony held Saturday at BAIMS

The annual Veterans Day ceremony drew about 75 veterans and guests to Bristol Arts and Innovation Magnet School on Saturday morning. The guest speaker for the event was Bristol Veterans Council (BVC) vice chairman Brian Avery (Army) and BVC chair First Sgt. Rich Carello (Army) provided opening and closing remarks. Mayor Jeffrey Caggiano extended greetings from the city.

Joe Caminiti (USMC, Iwo Jima survivor) led the Bell Ringing ceremony, while the presentation of MIA/POW table ceremony was presided over by CSM (Ret) Ed Literland (Army) and MSC Tim Gamache (Navy, Army).

Students from Bristol Central High School read the names of Bristol veterans who have passed on in the last year. Reach for the Stars Academy of Dance performed two routines.
