Good morning, Bristol!

Bristol's Muzzy Field from 2,500 feet up.

Good morning, Bristol! Good to see you, and how the heck are ya?

The temperature is expected to hit 85 by mid-day, with severe weather a strong possibility. Stay aware today with an eye to the sky, people. Fans of humidity will be encouraged because it will be up.

Seventy-five years ago today, Gov. James McConaughy was at Lake Compounce for a sheep bake to launch the campaign of Republican Daniel Davis for a fourth consecutive term as Bristol’s mayor. Was there talk of term limits back then? Seriously. Just asking.

Fifty years ago today, Mayor Frank Longo complained about waste and inefficiency in government. As a result, he had a time clock installed at police headquarters.

One hour ago, TBE Contributing editor Jack Krampitz said 6-2-4 will be today’s Play 3 lottery number. The wild ball will be 2.  If Jack said it, write it down. It’s a lock. Go to the bank!

If you are in search of something to do Saturday, the Bristol Historical Society is open10-2, Bristol Farmers Market is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Bristol’s first Steampunk event, A Victorian
Summer Fantasy in the Park,” will be held on Federal Hill Gream from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an after party at Firefly Hollow Brewery beginning at 5:30.

Sunday, you are on your own.

Ba-deep, ba-deep. That’s all folks!

Have a good weekend Bristol.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
