Good morning, Bristol!

Good to see ya. Did everyone make it through the weekend unscathed?

Despite our good mood there will be light rain most of the day with temps in the low 70s.

This Date in History

In 1983, Security guard Victor Gerena robbed $7 million dollars from a security company in West Hartford.

What’s the Lead?

Well, under the category Here we go again, the Ordinance Committee Strikes Back with a sequel to their nearly five-hour meeting last week. Thursday, they’ve reserved Meeting Room 1 at the Bristol Public Library from 4-8. This should be a hoot.

And not to be outdone, the City Council rides again Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m. The city council meeting is always a barn burner and a civics class too.

What are Words For?

Speaking of words, you do not hear from anymore, how about flurch? It means a multitude, a great many; spoken of things, not persons, as in a flurch of documents.

First weekend of the NFL season started yesterday, and the Jets picked up right where they left off for the last 50 years.

This term there are four female city councilors (Jolene Lusitani, Jacqueline Olsen, Susan Tyler, Cheryl Thibeault).

Women running for office and being office holders is no longer a novelty.
