TERRYVILLE – The first city series bout between the boys golf programs in town came and went on May 11 with the program from Bristol Central earning a big win over rivals Bristol Eastern and St. Paul Catholic.

Between the abilities of Scott Petrosky and basketball sharpshooter Joey Pikiell, the duo helped the Rams card an impressive 156 to defeat both the Lancers and Falcons from Pequabuck Golf Club in Terryville.

The Lancers came away with a 205 while the Falcons scored a 188 for second place.

Petrosky and Pikiell both carded 36s to lead all golfers in Terryville.

Also for Central, Brandon Frye scored a 40 while teammate Avery Philips did very well, carding a 44, as the Rams came away big winners.

St. Paul Catholic was 32 strokes behind Central but got a great effort from Matthew Downes.

He shot a 38, two off the Petrosky and Pikiell lead, while Liam Gaffney scored a 48.

Mack Butkus (50) and Kurt Radcliff (52) rounded out the field for the Falcons.

And for Eastern, Nate Fries came away with the best score of the day for his team.

Fries scored a 45 while Connor Gimpl zipped up a 47 from the course in Terryville.
