House fire on Steele Road

The Bristol Police and Fire Departments responded to Steele Road for an active structure fire at 9:58 p.m. Monday night, where firefighters located an elderly man in the basement, according to Bristol Police Dept. release.

After lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Another resident of the home was able to make their way safely out of the structure.

The identity of the deceased is not being released until family can be notified.
