Eastern boys soccer suffers tough loss to Lewis Mills

Lewis Mills (1-6-3) jumped to a quick lead and held on to beat Bristol Eastern(4-2-3), 3-2, Wednesday afternoon.

Scott Groleau scored 2 goals, one at 7:45 of the first half and another on a head ball about twenty minutes later.   

“Mills dominated play in the first half, winning balls and distributing them quickly ,” said Lancer coach Bill Sweet.  ” We played better in the second half, but it wasn’t enough today.”

Eastern’s Andre Gonzalez scored on an assist from Connor Policarpio after 6 minutes gone in the second half, as Eastern picked up play.   

Mills’s final goal came from Chris King on a long shot with about 3 minutes left.   

The Lancers’ Adam Borry scored less than a minute later.

Eastern pressed hard for the final two minutes, but ultimately ran out of time.

Eastern’s Nate Diloreto had 8 saves while, Lewis Mills’ Ryan Mayes made 9 saves.

Eastern hosts Farmington Wednesday at 3:00.
