BURLINGTON – The undefeated season for the Bristol Central boys track and field team continued Tuesday as the locals battled Lewis Mills in a CCC South entanglement from Burlington.

The Spartans had some very good individual performances, but the Central squad was stronger overall and ended up winning the meet by a 90-60 final – moving to 3-0 overall.

Several athletes ended up winning multiple events for the Rams, led by senior Nate DeAngelo and sophomore Francis Porrini.

The combination of DeAngelo, Porrini, Chris Roy, and Austin Freve won the 4×800 relay with a time of 8:45 while DeAngelo was dominant in both the one-mile and two-mile events.

In the 1600 meters, DeAngelo snared a first-place time of 4:25 while in the 3200, the senior won the event in 10:02.

Porrini nabbed the win in the 800 meters (2:05) while taking the high jump with a leap of five feet, six inches.

And there were other individual winners up and down the roster as well, some taking multiple events.

The 4×100 relay event saw the grouping of Noah Conrod, Tre Jones, Jason Monckton, Xavier Browne won the sprint in 47.3 seconds and then Browne won the 100 meters in 11.7 seconds.

Conrod took the 400 meters in 56.6 seconds while the foursome of Freve, Victor Rosa, Jarrett Boxley, and Conrod finished first in the 4×800 relay (3:53).

Central’s Tre Blair was the victor in the long jump (17-6.75), Tre Jones won the triple jump (36-5.5) and in the javelin, Jakob Salinas made a first-place toss of 159 feet, seven inches.

Central will end the season with three out of its four final meets commencing from Bristol.

Next Tuesday, the Rams are in action at home against Middletown and then on May 11, the program travels to Maloney for a CCC South meet – its final regular season road meet of the year.

On Tuesday, May 18, the Rams are home for Plainville and then three days later, it’s the big Central/Eastern clash.

All meets commence at 3:45 p.m.
