BC cross country squads ran well at the Ninth Harry Geraghty Invite on Friday

SOUTH WINDSOR – At the Ninth Harry Geraghty Invite from Nevers Park in South Windsor on Friday, the Bristol Central cross country programs had a busy afternoon on the course.

And junior Frankie Porrini had another quality showing, coming in second place overall with a time of 16:46.6 – being bested only by Glastonbury’s Joe Accurso (16:18.4).

Overall, the boys program from Bristol turned in a very good fourth place finish – seeing all of its scoring crew place within the top-30 of the event.

Central’s Chris Roy placed seventh overall in a time of 17:39.4 while teammate Lance Archibald earned 20th place in 19:13.90.

Other top finishers were Ryan Sarmiento (26th, 19:26.80), Tyler Wilson (28th, 19:36.6), and Scott Petrosky (29th, 19:47.3).

Glastonbury easily won the event followed by Hall of West Hartford while Edwin O. Smith took third.

The girls ran as individuals and had runners place towards the top of the event.

Maura Waters (23:09.1) earned 13th place to lead the locals while Sophia Stark (17th, 24:19.8) and Katie Tran (18th, 24:31.4) weren’t far behind.

In the JV event, Central’s Joshua Poulin finished in 19:37 which was the top time for the program.

For the girls in the JV heat, Johannie Juarez (28:33) was the top finisher for the locals.
