Memorial Boulevard to be closed for bridge project beginning June 7

The following announcement was issued by the city of Bristol on June 4:

The City of Bristol is announcing the start of construction for the Memorial Boulevard Bridge Project. The project includes the rehabilitation of the Memorial Boulevard Bridge and is part of the State/Local bridge program.

Construction of the project was awarded to Trademark Contractors, LLC for the sum of $2,670,229.75, and inspection services will be provided by WMC Consulting Engineers.  Funding for the project is being provided through the State Local Bridge Program via 50% Federal and 50% Municipality share contributions through a progressive reimbursement process to the City. 

Construction activities will begin the 7th of June. The project is scheduled to be completed by December of 2021.  

Detours will be put in place during the Memorial Boulevard Bridge replacement. Road closures will begin the 7th of June, 2021.  Your cooperation in avoiding the area for the duration of the project is appreciated.
