Annual Turkey Shoot basketball contest returns

The 26th Annual Turkey Shoot Basketball Free Throw Contest returns to Chippens Hill Middle School gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services announced yesterday.

Children, ages 4 through 13, will work together with a grownup of their choice to each attempt 10 foul shots and three freestyle shots of their choice for a chance to win a Thanksgiving turkey. One team from each age division will win a $25 gift certificate to Price Chopper to purchase a turkey for Thanksgiving. Raffle and door prizes will be awarded throughout the event, as well.

Participants are encouraged to arrive 5-10 minutes before their start time to check in and warm up before the competition. Pre-registration is required (see below). Teams will start at different times depending on the child’s age:

  • 9:30 AM – Ages 4 & 5
  • 10:00 AM – Ages 6 & 7
  • 10:30 AM – Ages 8 & 9
  • 11:00 AM – Ages 10 & 11
  • 11:30 AM – Ages 12 & 13
