Warming shelter locations in Bristol

The following are warming shelter locations and times for those in need here in Bristol:

  • Bristol Public Library, 5 High St., Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Bristol Senior Center, 240 Stafford Ave., Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Community Health Center, 395 North Main St., Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Salvation Army, 19 Stearns St., Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Agape House, 43 School St., Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon
  • Brian’s Angels, 99 Summer St., Tuesday to Sunday, 1p.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to check on neighbors and the elderly. It is also against the law to leave animals outside in extreme weather conditions.

Temperatures Tuesday into Wednesday are expected to dip into the single digits and teens.

The state’s severe cold weather protocol will be in effect through noon on Wednesday.

If the local shelters are at capacity, those in need should dial 2-1-1, press option 5 and a contact a specialist who will direct them to other shelters and/or warming stations in surrounding communities.
