Zoning commission approves assisted living project

The zoning commission unanimously approved plans, Wednesday, for a 60,000 sq. ft., 5-story building as part of a new assisted living project on the corner of North Main and Rt. 6, the former location of the Mamatseo Building, it was announced in a press release last week.

The building, a project of Senior Living Advisors, will house an innovative model with features such as remote visitation telemedicine, ultraviolet air handlers, a wellness center, restaurant, bistro, walking gardens and media room, according to the release.

The building will have 60 units, with 14 dedicated to specialized memory care. Between 50-75 employees will staff the operation.

Construction will begin in September with an opening in the late fall of 2021.
