Bristol Eastern boys track & field rolled Plainville over 88-62 triumph on Thursday

BRISTOL – The Bristol Eastern boys track & field team is now 2-for-2 on the season after flipping Plainville by an 88-62 final over a CCC South confrontation on Thursday from Alumni Field on the campus of BEHS.

The Lancers are 2-0 while the Blue Devils fell to 1-1. 

Eastern had multiple winners at the event, including Dominic Tartarelli who won the 1600 meters (4:57) and made up part of the winning 4×800 meter relay team.

Rayshon Andrews (100 meters, 11.2 seconds; 200 meters, 22.42 seconds) was a dual individual winner and also nabbed first place with the 4×100 meter relay squad.

Jack Mulcunry was the victor of the 400 meters (52.6 seconds), tallied the win in the 800 meters (2:09), and was one of the four members of the winning 4×400 meter relay team.

Speaking of the relay squads, the Kingstreeters made a complete sweep of the three events.

In the 4×100 meter relay, the team of Dennis Cruz, Justin Sanchez, Dylan Bartucca and Andrews were winners in 44.74 seconds.

The crew of the 4×400 meter relay team (Zion Otero, Jack Mulcunry, Bartucca, Cole Beland) finished the event in 3:44 – good for first place and in the 4×800 meter relay challenge, Dominic Tartarelli, Jase Koczur, Aidan Tartarelli and Beland ended the race in a winning time of 9:21. 

In the field, the squad was just as successful.

The crafty Isaiah Lawrence-Bynum won the triple jump with a leap of 41 feet, 4.25 inches while teammate Benjamin Kozikowski nabbed the victory in the high jump with a successful make of five feet, six inches.

And Austin Shorette won the shot put (37 feet even) and the discus (99 feet, four inches).

This coming Tuesday, the Lancers are back in action in a CCC South collision against Maloney from the track and field at Bristol Eastern.
