Good morning, Bristol!

It’s Tuesday, a little to the right, a little to the left. We have arrived, people.

Weather

In the AM, overcast. Later, sunny around 2 PM, with temps near 45. Come on. Wind 1-12 mph, with gusts to 26 mph.

Some city meetings

Joint Board at 6:45 p.m. with first City Council meeting post-election, following in new city council chamber. Special Bristol Board of Education meeting at 6 p.m,, BoE auditorium.

What kind of day for the movies

Movies released on this day through the years: “Dumb and Dumber To,” “Ryan and Dean’s Excellent Adventure” and “Christmas in the Heartland.” But then again, there is also “Love Actually” and “Quantum of Solace.”

So much for the ground game

On this day in 1943, the Chicago Bear’s Sid Luckman of the famous jump pass leads his team to a 56-7 win over the New York Giants, 56-7, becoming the first professional quarterback to pass for over 400 yards (433) and seven touchdowns.

My advice

Tuck in your chin, Bristol. Brace yourself.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
