Simsbury hands Eastern volleyball first defeat of the year

Simsbury handed Bristol Eastern their first defeat in volleyball Wednesday night, defeating the Lancers in straight sets.

The set scores were:

Set 1: 25-21

Set 2: 27-25

Set 3: 25-18

Bristol Eastern’s record is now 5-1 with the loss.

Simsbury improves their record to 6-1.

Playing well for BE was Andrea Martir-Perez, who had 14 assists, 15 digs and 1 ace. Emily Valentine chipped in with 16 digs and 2 aces. And Adrianna Reay added 11 kills and 8 digs.

The Lancers return to action on Friday with a match at Plainville set for 6 p.m.
