St. Paul girls cruise over Wilby Monday night, 76-25

Basketball

The mismatch was clear from the start as the St. Paul girls basketball team jumped all over Wilby for a 23-3 first period lead, and the Falcons never looked back in an NVL matchup in Waterbury Monday night. The final score was 76-25.

Once again, the Falcons played the entire varsity roster, as 13 players put points in the book for St. Paul. Nadia Reimer led the team with 14, while Rebeccca Kelly poured in 10 points.

Audrey Tice was the leader in assists with 8, and Izzy Leggett pulled down 10 rebounds for the Falcons.

Rae Lewis led Wilby with 12 points.

St. Paul has two games remaining in the regular season, playing tonight at Wolcott and hosting WCA on Thursday. With a record of 13-4, the Falcons have the fifth best record in Class MM, and will definitely be home for the first round of the State Tournament, with a second round home game waiting should they win.
