Two children injured in backyard fire incident

On Sunday at 8:35 p.m., the Bristol Police received a 911 call requesting medical assistance for burn victims at a single-family home on Pine Court in Bristol.


Members of the Bristol Police Department Patrol Division responded to the scene. The police reported that two children, ages 5 and 7, were burned when an accelerant was introduced into a backyard bonfire. Both were transported to area hospitals for treatment.


Members of the Bristol Police Department Criminal investigation Division responded to investigate the incident.

Also, the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Unit was requested and responded to assist in processing the scene.
