CT Route 229 Corridor Study Public Involvement Sessions

The Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments (NVCOG) will be hosting two events on September 29th, to seek public input for the CT Route 229 Corridor Study.

Route 229, which connects the City of Bristol and U.S. Route 6 to the Town of Southington and Interstate 84, provides limited or no facilities for non-drivers and experiences frequent congestion.

This study, with the help of public comments, aims to identify solutions to address congestion and safety concerns, while creating a more accommodating route for users of all ages, abilities, and mode choices.

A guided tour of the corridor will begin at 2 PM, to explore the unique existing challenges and opportunities. The tour will cover intersection locations in both Bristol and Southington over the course of one hour.

A hybrid public information meeting will begin at 6PM at the Bristol Public Library located at 5 High Street, Meeting Room 2 & 3. Remote participation is available at https://webinar.ringcentral.com/j/1448241259.
