Basketball

The St. Paul girls basketball team suffered their first loss of the season Friday as Torrington dominated the fourth quarter to pull away in a see-saw contest for a 46-39 victory.

Torrington led by one at halftime, but the Falcons stayed within range and actually went into the fourth quarter with a one point advantage themselves. But the Red Raiders out-scored St. Paul by a 14-4 margin in the fourth to pull out the victory.

Nadia was a tower of strength for the Falcons with a team-leading 17 points. Sam Naples supported Reimer with a 7 point night.

Torrington was led by Haley and Melissa Burger with 14 and 12 points respectively. St. Paul is now 4-1 on the season, while Torrington improves to 3-2.
