Fishing Derby draws large crowd to Rockwell Park Sunday morning

A large crowd got up early and journeyed to Rockwell Park Sunday morning to take part in a fishing derby sponsored by the American Legion Forestville Post 209.

Brian Avery, Commander of Post 209, stated that Rockwell pond was stocked with hundreds of fish on Friday afternoon, some as large as ten or twelve pounds.

Early arrivals staked out their spots on the shore, awaiting the official 8:00 AM start time.

A large array of trophies and prizes awaited the participants, as the crowd was expected to grow to 150 as the derby began.

The Fishing Derby was free to all the young anglers who attended.
