Parks names new arts and culture supervisor

Bristol’s new Arts and Culture Supervisor was announced by the City of Bristol Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services superintendent Wednesday.

Arianna Therriault, a Bristol resident who holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Central Connecticut State University, assumed her responsibilities, effective May 3.

“Arianna has a really fantastic blend of education, experience, skills, and passion for the arts that make her uniquely positioned to lead the city’s Arts and Culture Division,” said BPRYCS superintendent Dr. Josh Medeiros.

“She comes with great ideas for the theater, programs, and an overall vision of what arts and culture in Bristol can look like. Our entire team is looking forward to working with her.”

Theriault has over a decade of experience in multimedia production, project coordination and operations, most notably with ESPN, where she served in several capacities, including as a studio operator and was responsible for operating and coordinating live production shows, and collaborating with ad agencies to create commercial content.

In addition, Theriault is co-owner of Get A Grip Productions, a film production company where she writes, directs and produces short narrative and feature-length documentary films. Among her many duties are to collaborate with local artists for Claymation, miniature set building, special effects makeup, sound/audio, editing and filming.

In anticipation of her new role, Therriault said, “I am honored to join the City of Bristol, and I look forward to building a strong connection with the arts and culture community.”

The Arts and Culture Supervisor is a part-time role charged with developing year-round arts
and culture programs, programming Downtown Live productions at the Rockwell Theater and
supporting the work of the City Arts and Culture Commission.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
