Student arrested at Bristol Central on weapons charge

On Wednesday, 10/27, at 11:50 a.m. the Bristol Police School Resource Officer was contacted by Bristol Central High School staff of an anonymous complaint of a student carrying a handgun in their backpack. The student was detained and the backpack found in a separate location.


An unloaded “air soft” hand gun was located and seized. The juvenile student was issued an arrest summons to appear in New Britain juvenile court and charged with Breach of Peace 2nd, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon on school grounds.

There is no known ongoing threat to the school.
