BRISTOL – The Bristol Central girls track and field program did well in its CCC South bout against Plainville last Tuesday.

But the Blue Devils have several prime-time performers as the squad racked up a 86-64 victory over the Rams from the track at BCHS.

Central fell to 1-4 overall but the crew was able to tally more than a few first place tallies.

In the discus, Kaleah Richards did extremely well, making a first place toss of 75 feet, five inches.

Lynae Lewis continues to perform well in the 400 meters, her best event, as she crossed the finish line in 62 seconds (1:02) and then junior Kylee Barnes was a double winner that afternoon.

The talented jumper nabbed first place in both the high and long jumping events.

The high jump saw Lewis take the win with a successful make of five feet, two inches and then in the long jump, her leap of 17 feet, two-and-a-half inches won her the event.

We’re inching closer to the Bristol Central/Bristol Eastern showdown on May 16 but before then, on May 9, the Rams travel to Lewis Mills school in Burlington for a CCC South showdown.

Meet time is 3:45 p.m.

Lewis performs well in Middletown

The 400 meter speedster from Central was able to run at the Middletown Invite over the weekend and Lewis made a ninth place finish in the event.

She ended the 400 with a time of 1:01.67 to lead the Rams.
